Eight foreign troops from the NATO-led force in Afghanistan have been shot dead by an Afghan air force pilot at Kabul airport. A contractor and the gunman were also killed in the shootout.
British media report an Afghan security official who said the pilot was suffering from "mental illness" and got involved in an argument. However the Taliban said they had ordered the killings.
The shootings follow a series of attacks by Afghan security forces against their NATO colleagues carried out by so-called "rogue soldiers".
